Manual driving lessons in Melbourne

Clutch, gears, hill-starts. Learn manual properly with instructors who teach it daily.

From $70/hour

Transmission

Manual is still useful — better fuel economy, more control on slippery surfaces, and a full licence (not the auto-only restriction). It also takes more lessons to master than automatic, and many auto-only schools quietly avoid teaching it. We don't. About a third of our instructors are manual-qualified and they teach it every week.

How it works

From signup to your first lesson

  1. 1

Lesson 1: clutch and biting point

Always a quiet street. Just clutch up, clutch down, find the biting point. By the end of lesson 1 you'll move from a stop without stalling.

  2. 2

    Lessons 2–4: gears, traffic, hills

Gear changes through 4 gears, smooth ratios up and down, hill-starts in genuine traffic.

  3. 3

    Lessons 5+: test-ready manual

Roundabouts in the right gear, smooth downshifts approaching corners, parallel parking with clutch control.
